David Moyes’ long list of defeats at Old Trafford seems to be growing by the week, so he’s looking to make some changes to his squad in this window. He’s assembled an expensive sounding shopping list that consists of Atlético Madrid’s Koke, Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan from Dortmund, Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala and Luke Shaw, according to BBC

More outlandish claims even suggest that he’s going to try and buy Diego Costa, but we don’t see that one happening any time soon. La Liga looks like it’s Dave’s favourite hunting ground, although they have cooled their interest in Ander Herrera according to The Mirror, but they will continue their bid to get Fábio Coentr&atidle;o in this window, despite Ancelotti claiming Madrid will not do any business in January.

Elsewhere, Juan Mata is demanding talks with the folks in charge at Chelsea about his future, and if he doesn’t get the right answers, then he’ll be off. Atlético Madrid are waiting in the wings with a bid (Daily Mirror) to help them continue their title challenge. He would be a fantastic buy and could make the difference for them in both Champions League and the domestic games, and some playing time would benefit the player too as he looks to make the cut for Brazil this summer.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

Erik Lamela clearly hasn’t settled in London, and his agent has already been talking to some teams back in Italy who might take the winger back on loan in this window. Inter are very interested, while Lazio have also been mentioned, but Spurs don’t seem too keen to let one of their biggest buys of the summer go so soon.

West Ham have announced that they’re very close to signing two more players in this window, and with their problems up front a striker will be at the very top of their shopping list. One of the names that has been linked with a move there is Kevin Doyle, and it would be of great benefit to Ireland to have the striker back in the Premier League. However, his form of late hasn’t been fantastic, and Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has stated he won’t be leaving, but we’re sure they’d be happy to have his wages off the payroll sooner rather than later. Speaking of managers, Big Sam’s head is most certainly on the chopping block, as ‘Arry Redknapp is favourite to replace him with the bookies.

Newcastle United v West Bromwich Albion - Premier League

In other news, Hull face opposition from Newcastle and Stoke for the signature of Ireland’s Shane Long; Tony Pulis is aiming to get a loan deal for Demba Ba from Chelsea, who clearly like giving away their strikers, but West Ham and Arsenal are also rumoured; Fiorentina are considering a move for Nemanja Vidic; Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been told to back off in their pursuit of Freddy Guarin from Inter as the nerazzurri say he’s not for sale; Barcelona look to have filled their void in goals as Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 21-year-old ‘keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has rejected a new contract from the Bundesliga side; and finally Giorgios Samaras won’t be headed to Turkey with the rest of the Celtic squad as he has been told he can take some time to make a decision about his future.
