Our TV Pick of the Week this week is sure to keep you entertained while also giving you a good few cooking tips along the way.

We’ve decided to mix it up a bit this week for our TV Pick of the Week by bringing you ‘Martin & Paul’s Surf ‘n’ Turf’ challenge. It sees two of Ireland’s top chefs battling it out to be crowned the cooking champion, thanks to their chosen dish.

As you could probably guess, one of the chef’s is mad about turf, while the other loves his surf. So there are tastes to suit everyone’s pallet on the show.

Sadly, this episode (RTÉ 1, Wednesday, 8.30pm) is the last in the series, but for the past eight weeks Martin Shanahan of RTE’s Martin’s Mad About Fish and Paul Flynn of RTE’s Paul Flynn: Irish Food, have been touring the country cooking with only the finest fresh and locally sourced Irish produce.

It’s a great programme and it will also be a nice break away from the sports and Family Guy that you usually watch. If you happen to take a fancying to any of the recipes on the show then you can head over to the RTÉ website where you can find out how the lads cooked their respective meals.

This week, the two lads head to Donegal, where Paul Flynn finds a famous Irish celebrity at an Irish class and recruits this person to help him prepare pork belly cooked with black pudding. Meanwhile, Martin Shanahan sources local mackerel to prepare at the challenge held in the Glencolmcille Folk Village.
