USIT or lose it? The latest 12 Month USA Work Programme is mighty tempting

Ever thought of casting off the shackles of this rain-sodden, Jedward-loving land to set sail for the US? That's where USIT comes in.

Ever thought of casting off the shackles of this rain-sodden, Jedward-loving land to set sail for the US? That’s where USIT comes in.

Though it’s typically been difficult for the Irish to work in the US, it’s now easier than ever thanks to USIT’s various Work Visas.

In particular, we recommend a 12 Month Work USA Programme*, which is open to current third level students, part-time students, professionals within their field or those who have graduated within the past 12 months. So what’s the appeal? Oh dear reader, let us count the ways…

With USIT’s 12 Month Work USA Programme – you can:

  • Apply & Travel anytime of the year!
  • Work in the USA for a full 12 months
  • Travel without a pre-arranged job!
  • Travel the USA exploring different opportunities related to your chosen career field

Not a bad deal, right? Best get cracking on your Visa application then. In addition to that, USIT are also offering two more programmes to the US: a Professional Career Training USA option as well as the Internship USA. You can try an ‘eligibility checker’ over here to find out which is more suitable.

A trip needn’t just about be stocking up on crates of the sadly-defunct-in-Ireland Vanilla Coke, however, as there are fantastic jobs available for programme participants, including a Marketing Design role in Seattle or a position for a Embedded Systems Engineer in New York.

So why not take the plunge? They don’t call the USA the Land of Opportunity for nothing, and aside from having to pretend that you like the taste of light beer and that baseball is an exciting, nuanced sport, you’re likely to have the time of your life over the next twelve months.

Oh and if you’re looking for further information, USIT will be at the Work Abroad Expo this weekend, Saturday March 3rd and Sunday March 4th for anyone wanting more info on working abroad.

*You must be over 18, hold an Irish passport and be a current student or within 12 months of your college graduation to avail of this programme. See the USIT website for more details
