People are at their most vulnerable and most tetchy when woken from a deep slumber… which makes this video of some of the best wake-up pranks ever seen all the more hilarious.

Some will say it’s not fair to interrupt someone while they’re sleeping and others will say it’s downright cruel; you wouldn’t like it if it happened to you after all.

But the people who say all of those things obviously aren’t aware of just how hilarious it can be to play a prank on somebody when they’re fast asleep, as is evident from some of the examples in the video above.

Some of the methods used are old classics – making an incredibly loud noise, rubbing something in the face of the victim – but others are extremely creative and are obviously the result of a lot of planning – the multiple mouse traps on the floor, for example – while our personal favourite is the guy who wakes up his partner just as it looks as if their car is about to be hit by an oncoming truck.

Genius. Evil genius but still genius.
