In Artur Boruc’s defence, he has been one of the best goalkeepers all season, but this was a terrible howler that gifted Olivier Giroud the opening goal today.
It was first versus third at the Emirates today and Southampton travelled in great confidence after their outstanding start to the season, but a clanger from the Pole has seen them fall a goal behind.
A good shot-stopper he may be, but blessed with Messi-like skills he is not and after attempting to showboat in front of Giroud, the Frenchman persisted in winning the ball and duly did, before rolling the ball into the back of the net.

Coming only weeks after
