Video: Brilliant LG prank fools people into thinking the end of the world is nigh

Sure we can laugh now, but if we were in the same situation as the victims of this poor prank we would have sh*t ourselves.

Sure we can laugh now, but if we were in the same situation as the victims of this poor prank we would have sh*t ourselves.

LG thought they would have a little fun when showing off the capacity of their 84” LG 4K TV, a piece of equipment that produces a picture so clear that it actually makes for a very convincing window unit.

Having set up a fake job interview situation in an office filled with hidden cameras, the pranksters invited a series of people into be interviewed and sat them in a chair facing what looked like a window overlooking a city backdrop, but was actually an LG television instead.

They then proceeded to fabricate a situation where a meteor was in the process of hitting the ground while the interview was going on and unsurprisingly, the poor so-called interviewees in question reacted with pure terror at what they must have thought were their final few minutes on earth.

Everyone was let in on the prank within a couple of seconds so their sense of impending doom didn’t last very long and while most of them were just relieved and able to have a laugh about it afterwards, one victim was absolutely incensed and wasn’t shy about showing it either.

Of course, it wasn’t the first time that LG used their own technology to have a laugh at the expense of a few strangers (see below), but hey, as long as it doesn’t affect and embarrass us, we say keep up the good work.
