A president of a football club takes to the stadium loudspeaker to insult the ref during his club's game...interesting tactic!
By Adrian Collins
A club in Italy has been fined €10,000 after their president took the loudspeaker system to insult the game's referee.
The president of Campobasso had clearly had enough after he took exception to the ref's decisions, including having one of his players, Di Vicino, sent off. The target of his anger was pretty clear as he stormed to the speaker's room to grab the mic and let the ref know exactly what he thought.
Ferrucio Capone can be heard shouting at the ref in the video at 3:14, and you can watch the highlights of the rest of the second division game too. We did, and we still can't figure out how the chance at 1:50 stayed out!
The president will have stump up the cash for the fine now anyway, and even though our Italian isn't great, we guess that “Specsavers” is the same in every language, right?
