Former Manchester United crock Owen Hargreaves scored a cracking goal on his debut for United’s bitter rivals Manchester City last night.
Most football fans will have raised a smile at the sight of the desperately unlucky Hargreaves finally doing something productive on the pitch after a few injury plagued seasons, although Manchester United fans will grimace at the thought of what might have been if Hargreaves had stayed on at Old Trafford.
Hargreaves struck a rasping drive to the top corner from the edge of the area 16 minutes into his first game for Roberto Mancini’s side after joining City in what was the most surprising move of transfer deadline day last month.

City eased to a 2-0 win over Carling Cup holders Birmingham at the Etihad Stadium, with the out-of-favour Mario Balotelli netting the second goal later in the first half.
