There has been a big build up to the clash of Liverpool and Celtic in the Dublin Decider this evening and it was first blood to the Glasgow side.

A sell-out crowd saw a brilliant atmosphere at the Aviva, something that sadly hasn’t been a common feature since the ground has been redeveloped for a football game, as both sets of supporters revelled in seeing their teams up close, though it was Celtic that struck for the opening goal. Amido Balde cut in from the right, slid the ball through Andre Wisdom’s legs and slotted the ball past Liverpool’s new number one Simon Mignolet to put Neil Lennon’s men ahead against what is a strong-looking Reds side. Liverpool have had their fair share of possession but could not manage to find the break-through in front of goal in the opening period.
