Roberto Soldado scored a hat-trick for Spurs against Anzhi Makhachkala last night, but Lewis Holtby scored the goal of the night with this delicate touch and finish.

The Russian side offered little in the way of a challenge for Andre Villas Boas’ men at White Hart Lane in the Europe League meeting last night, with Spurs emerging 4-1 winners thanks in no small part to a hat-trick by Soldado, who has sparked into life only on rare occasions since joining from Valencia in the summer.

While it was Soldado’s night, even he will concede that the goal of the game went to Lewis Holtby as the German put Spurs 3-1 to the good early in the second half after an exquisite touch to take down Andros Townsend’s through ball in the area and, without even looking at the goal, an instinctive finish to knock it past the advancing Anzhi ‘keeper.

It’s just a pity about the celebration though, the pitch wasn’t half wet enough for that.
