The preview of this week’s Simpsons episode sees Monty Burns tackle the problems of the US economy. And he thinks us Irish can help.
While many have stopped watching the Simpsons more recent escapades, Springfield’s favourite family are still churning out the episodes. This week’s one looks at the fallout from the US election and as a true blue Republican, Monty Burns is distraught at Mitt Romney’s defeat.
And as a billionaire, poor old Monty is also worried about the US economy and upcoming financial crisis facing the country, known as the Fiscal Cliff.
But the world’s best nuclear power plant owner has a plan, and it involves us Irish. Monty says he has room for “200 grimy Irishmen per year” adding “I’ve got lots of potatoes that need peeling and stables to be mucked out”.
Cheers Monty, thanks for thinking of us.
