Neymar made his debut for Barcelona last night in Poland in a game that could well be the story of their season. A Leo Messi goal, some neat moves, but some God-awful defending.

Lechia Gdansk played out a 2-2 draw at home to Barca that saw the €57 million Brazilian striker make his bow off the bench with 11 minutes remaining in what was a relatively strong line-up from the Catalans, with Messi flanked up front by Alexis Sanchez and Cristian Tello.

Barca went behind on two occasions and as you will see in the video, new boss Tata Martino will have his work cut out to improve the side’s vulnerability from set-pieces and defending in general, though he will be welcoming back more of his stars from Confederation’s Cup duty.

A Sergi Roberto goal and a typical Messi finish after a slick passing sequence earned the Blaugrana a draw and we can look forward to the Messi-Neymar partnership causing defences all kinds of trouble.

And we apologise for the music, nothing to do with us.
