Robbie Keane helped LA Galaxy to victory over Columbus Crew with a last-minute penalty last night but the man himself will even admit that it was as soft as they come.

Keane scored twice from the spot to secure a 2-1 win on the night that ‘Murica celebrated Independence Day, but his acting was as questionable as the majority of characters in the film of the same name when he earned the second penalty in injury-time.

When a cross was delivered from the left-wing, Keane felt the hand of Columbus Crew defender Bernardo Anor brush against his back and hit the ground as if struck by a bullet from a sniper in the crowd, but the tactic worked as the ref pointed to the spot and Robbie did the necessary from 12 yards.

Not one of Keane’s finer moments, but a win’s a win in the end.
