Pressure, what pressure? Roberto Mancini showed at his press conference today that he still has a sense of humour.
Manchester City might be all but out of Europe, and they don’t look quite the team they were last season but Roberto Mancini is certainly in buoyant mood.
If you remember, he didn’t turn up to his weekly Friday press conference last week after his side’s struggles in the Champions League, sending assistant David Platt in his place.
So when the Italian rocked up to speak to the assembled hacks this morning, ahead of the game against Villa tomorrow, he decided to wear a Platt mask.
It’s not pretty but it ensures a positive story comes out of City today and it shows that Mancini is a bit of craic.
We hope it now starts a trend for all sorts of assistant masks. We’re sure that somewhere in the bowels of Old Trafford somebody is printing out a Mike Phelan mask as we speak.
