Roy Keane caused a bit of a storm with his firm opinion that Nani deserved to see red midweek, and today stood by those claims.
By Declan Whooley
The former United captain was back in studio with his ITV chums ahead of the United – Chelsea FA Cup game with host Adrian Chiles first asking Keane how his week had been since making his outspoken views known.
He admitted plenty of people had mentioned it to him but he still believed it was red, while Gareth Southgate and Lee Dixon were sticking to their guns that it was a harsh dismissal, though not as meekly as Tuesday night when they appeared a little intimidated by the former Irish midfielder.
Keane also mentions his sending off for a challenge on Southgate in the 1995 FA Cup semi-final while also looking towards Dixon while recalling getting sent-off at the same stage against Arsenal in 1999.
The quality of the footage isn’t the best, but you get the idea.
