If you can recall the media firestorm that followed the infamous 'No Russians' level from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it's nothing compared to new footage from Modern Warfare 3.
Although the highly-anticipated first-person shooter is not released worldwide until November 8, gameplay footage of the game has cropped up all over YouTube, with the most attention coming towards a scene that is entitled 'Davis Family Vacation' and set in London.
The clip, featured above, begins with handheld footage of a father filming his wife and daughter on a trip to London, with Big Ben clearly visible in the background.
Shortly after the scene begins, a truck pulls up behind the child and seconds later, a bomb is detonated, blowing away the wife and daughter and leaving the presumed dead husband slumping to the floor. A toxic gas appears to released following the explosion.
Although the clip has only debuted online a few hours, it's likely that mainstream media will hover around the footage in a similar way to how the spotlight was shone on the aforementioned 'No Russian's mission in Modern Warfare 2.
In the predecessor to Tuesday's release, players witnessed and could if they choose to, interacted in, an airport massacre while posing as an undercover agent alongside Russian terrorists.
Have co-developers Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games gone too far with the new scene's inclusion, or do you respect their decision? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
