Stoke City are often accused on being a tough team to watch, but Britannia-bound Juan Agudelo demonstrated last night he could bring a bit of spark to their attack.

Mark Hughes saw his reign get off to a losing start at Anfield yesterday, though he has said he hopes to get a few more new faces into the squad before the close of the transfer window. The club announced last week that Agudelo has signed a pre-contract with the Potters ahead of a January move and duly scored a cracker last night for New England Revolution.

The 20 year-old, who has 17 caps for the USA, finished a through ball with a back-heeled lob that left the Chicago netminder floundering.

A sensational finish and Stoke fans could well be counting down the days until he arrives in the New Year.
