After a disappointing first half in which their only score came from the boot of Ian Madigan, Leinster tried to push on in the second, but only had further points from penalty kicks to show for their efforts. As the clock ticked toward the end, it looked as though they were going to find some way to pull a result out of the bag as they poured the pressure on Northampton on the try line, but it wasn't to be.
As they went through phase after phase trying to find a gap to exploit, Jamie Heaslip unexpectedly dropped the ball and was harshly punished for his mistake by Jamie Elliot, who reacted first to run the length of the pitch to score. As you can see from the images above, the Leinster lads were pretty devastated about the loss.
