At the back end of last year we featured a brilliant self alley-oop by Danilo Gallinari. Now his team-mate JaVale McGee has done one too.

The Denver Nuggets JaVale McGee is one of the most talented, and watchable, players in the NBA. Capable of tremendous moments of skill he is also capable of tremendously stupid bits of play.

Last night was a 'good JaVale' night as McGee scored 14 off the bench as the Nuggets beat Houston. The undoubted highlight, though, was this bit of magic.

Facing a few Rockets defenders, McGee just decided to lob the ball up off the glass and follow up his own rebound with a dunk.

Brilliant thinking from the big fella but we still prefer Gallinari’s effort, which you can see here.
