Gareth Bale’s wonder goal last night was a thing of beauty to behold, as he athleticised (we’ve invented that word, but feel that it should exist) his way past Marc Bartra and ran at speeds known only to scientists and road runners to create a truly memorable cup final moment.
Judging by the video he posted to Instagram last night as the team were returning to Madrid (a little after 4am, by all accounts) the fans at the Plaza de Cibeles were happy to see him and the team, as they brought home another trophy to the traditional spot where fans gather to celebrate in the city centre.
When asked how he felt in an interview, he was still struggling with the aul Spanish, but if he keeps scoring goals like he did last night, the fans won’t mind too much.
