Absolutely amazing scenes at the end of the Derry Championship Final…

With Liam McCarthy and Sam Maguire safely resting in Kilkenny and Kerry respectively, GAA fans around the country have turned their attention back to the club game for the rest of the year.

We all know that the local club means so much to the community, remember this Kerry guy tearing up his All-Ireland final ticket last month in exchange for funding for his club.

It’s one thing representing your club but it’s another thing winning something with your club and a county championship is the holy grail for every player in the country.

Slaughtneil reached that over the weekend as they upset the odds by beating four-in-a-row chasing Ballinderry to win the Derry Championship Title. The final score was 1-8 to 0-9 to give Slaughtneil only their second ever county final win.

It was clearly a special moment for the club and some of the emotion and excitement was captured by the people at viewperformance.net, check out the amazing scenes here…

Hat-tip to Cahair O’Kane.
