Just two weeks after the sad passing of Ecuadorian international Chucho Benitez, the striker was remembered with a touching gesture during the international friendly with Spain.

The World and European champions were in town and while they recorded a 2-0 win, the game also marked a poignant tribute to the striker who died to a undetectable heart ailment. The number 11 was remembered when the game was halted in the 11th minute, while the Ecuadorian players also wore shirts featuring an image of Benitez and his No. 11 before the match and a black ribbon was sewn onto their sleeves.
