Video: Unbelievable volleyed finish straight from a corner in Japan

Whenever this tactic works, the end result is pretty special and it was no different when executed by Nagoya Grampus in Japan recently.

Whenever this tactic works, the end result is pretty special and it was no different when executed by Nagoya Grampus in Japan recently.

It takes a very confident player to take on a volley direct from a corner because the potential for embarrassment is huge. For a start, the delivery could be poor and even if it is accurate, there’s a good chance the player taking on the shot could miss it completely, send it into Row Z or slice it and fall on their arse to the amusement of everyone present.

There was no such trouble for Milivoje Novakovic of Japanese outfit Nagoya Grampus in a clash against Omiya Ardija earlier this week as the Slovenian forward caught the cross as sweet as a nut and sent the ball flying into the roof of the net.

He probably could have tried it another ten times and only had the same result once but there’s no taking this goal away from him. What a hit.
