It’s still early days but we don’t think it will be possible for another week at any stage this season to better this one for the amount of unbelievable goals scored.
Carlisle United’s Lewis Guy added to the already stellar collection with a cracking effort against MK Dons on Tuesday night, volleying home in spectacular fashion after a first-time scissor-kick cross from David Amoo that was pretty spectacular in its own right.
It was the only goal of the game and a goal worthy of winning any game; it’s just unfortunate for Guy that it came in the same week as, oh, off the top of our heads, Wilshere’s goal against Norwich, Kasami’s against Palace, Stephanie Roche’s golazo for Peamount United and a handful of outrageous Zlatan efforts and it mightn’t get as much exposure as it would in any ordinary week.
Still some strike, mind.
