Network provider Vodafone have announced that customers will be able to swap their Cherry Points for free rewards from this coming July.

“The Cherry Points rewards programme brings Vodafone’s commitment to our customers to another level.” said Consumer Director Stefano Gastaut. More importantly, the guys at Vodafone Ireland sent us on a quartet of tasty cherry-topped cupcakes this afternoon to mark the announcement, which is usually a sure-fire way to get the JOE team’s attention.

“So far we’ve had great take-up from our existing pay as you go (PAYG) customers so we’re delighted we can now reward them and help make their life a little sweeter,” added Gastaut.

The Cherry Points scheme is exclusive to Vodafone’s PAYG customers and allows members to build up points from every top up. Future rewards coming in July include phones, accessories, gig tickets and free top ups.

The Cherry Catalogue website, launched today, offers customers a full catalogue of rewards and their respective Cherry Points cost.

Next week Vodafone is also offering customers the chance to test their gaming skills with the launch of an exclusive computer game, Cherry Drop, that is free to all PAYG customers. Playing the game even allows users to win themselves free credit.

“We encourage all our pay as you go customers to sign up to Cherry Points and really experience the extra special value available from Vodafone,” said the aforementioned Stefano Gastaut, presumably while concentrating on putting the finishing touches to our cupcake delivery.
