There wasn’t an awful lot for Irish fans to get excited about in Poznan on Sunday night, for everyone except one male Irish supporter that is.
The Croatian team mightn’t have gone particularly easy on us on the pitch, but say what you like about their players, their supporters are certainly a generous lot.
With Ireland staring defeat in the face and the optimism that had engulfed all of us draining slowly away, one friendly female Croatian supporter took a dejected Irish fan into her bosom to comfort him in a time of great disappointment.
As you can see from the picture below, it was a little more graphic than that, but the amorous Irish fan in question certainly wasn’t resisting the invitation and another female Croatian fan seated directly behind decided to get in on the act as well.
The picture, originally posted by Karen Lennon, was retweetedlast night by Ireland defender Sean St. Ledger, who started a Twitter campaign to reveal the mystery Irish Don Juan.
