Drunken texts? Let's face it, we're all guilty, even if our worst efforts aren't nearly as bad as some of the examples featured on this fine website.
Like the best websites and indeed many we’ve featured in this category so far – Kim Jong Il looking at things, Awkward Stock Photos – textsfromlastnight.com does exactly what it says on the tin.
And that’s what makes it so good. Because, in fairness, who hasn’t been there? Who hasn’t rolled over in bed and dreaded looking at the sent items folder on their phone to scroll down and see that their worst fears had indeed been realised. Yes, you did in fact express your vile hatred of your girlfriend or admitted to your best friend that the supposedly innocent meeting with their sister/mother a few weeks back wasn't so innocent after all.
Although there might be a few of you out there who have actually seen Kim Jong Il looking at things in the flesh or who have might have had reason to pose lying on a surfboard in a suit while looking at a laptop, unlike the two websites mentioned above, nearly everyone can relate to some of the stories relayed on Texts From Last Night, even if your own personal recollections mightn’t be half as crazy as some of those featured on this great website.
Be warned (you shouldn’t really be surprised) that many of the texts relate to incidents of a sexual nature and although there will be some shocked by the lewdness of what’s on offer, those of you who aren’t easily offended will find plenty to feast your eyes upon.
How about the exchange below involving the man who all too suddenly and conveniently remembered the whereabouts of his little friend …

or the woman who fell prey to a spot of mistaken identity, even if she didn’t mind it all that much.

Rest assured though, it’s not all sex. There’s the guy who woke up rich and in completely different attire from the night before …

or the man who, when drunk, assumes an anti-flammable forcefield.

There are countless other examples of similarly hilarious ill-advised texts, certainly enough to while away the hours when you're pretending to be particularly busy coming up to Christmas.
It won’t take you long to notice that the majority of the content is American or from in and around that neck of the woods, and while it doesn't detract from the laughs, one can only imagine the mass potential for an Irish version of such a website, even if the prospect of being named and shamed on such a public forum doesn't bear thinking about.
