Think the classic breakfast roll only about twice as bad for you.
The breakfast roll is the ultimate in bad ideas but it is one hell of a tasty bad idea. Whatever you chuck into a breakfast fry-up, all lashed into a bit of bread with the sauce of your choice. Very bad for you but once in a while, it is worth it.
However, in the US (surprise, surprise) they have decided to shove the humble breakfast roll up a fair few notches on the calorie scale. According to the Daily Mail, a New York chip shop has taken a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and mushroom, wrapped it in batter and deep-fried it.
This mammoth, and let’s be honest, very tasty looking treat weighs in at 1,200 calories, about half the recommended daily amount for a man.
As far as we know, the Chip Shop in Park Slope, New York is the only place doing these special sandwiches. Chippers of Ireland, time to step up.
