Will you be there for Friends: The Opera?

Everyone's favourite giant mug of coffee-drinking portrayal of a bunch of incestuous mates is finally hitting the stage. Yes, Friends, The Opera is coming.

The September 28 performance will be a once-off at the Arts Theatre in the West End of London and is set to coincide with the iconic sitcom's move to the Comedy Central channel.

The show, which first began in 1995 and reached its finale in 2004, had been a staple of the E4 channel, where it was aired twice daily for seven years. However, last weekend was the final transmission of Friends on E4, as it is now to take up residence on Comedy Central instead.

A representative of the performance told The Times that actor and filmmaker David Schwimmer, who played the neurotic Ross Geller in the show, will be involved.

“One of the team had a meeting with David last week, he is definitely on board but it is all tbc," the unnamed rep confirmed.

So what do you reckon, does a Friends performance (most likely minus the bulk of the cast) sound like a recipe for disaster, or will you be there for them no matter what? You can let us know in the comments section below.
