We are warning you, DO NOT watch this if you are in any way squeamish because it is not pretty.
You may or may not have heard of Joerg Sprave before but if you haven’t, he’s basically a world authority on slingshots. He’s been using them since he was a child, he has made hundreds of them, has carried out numerous tricks with them on video in the past and even has his own YouTube channel dedicated to the practise.
In short, if you were carrying out an ambitious exercise like Sprave was when seeing how bottles would shatter when hit with a ball fired from a slingshot recently, you couldn’t pick a better man for the job.
Unfortunately, it all went wrong when a ball fired from the slingshot towards a champagne bottle rebounded off a wall being used in the exercise and caught Sprave straight in the forehead, knocking him to the ground and causing instant and excessive bleeding (it all goes wrong about 1.18 into the clip above).
Sprave was attended to immediately by his wife and while some commenters on YouTube are claiming it’s a fake (we really hope it is) we genuinely don’t think so.
Once we watched this the first time we could barely watch it again so don’t say we didn’t warn you but you’ll be glad to know that although he was heavily dazed and in some pain at the end, Sprave was at least upright again by the end of the clip.
We’re never playing with slingshots ever again.
