It is being reported that Kevin Browne died at a place called Hard Times, which features a replica mine shaft.

Tragic news is emerging from Australia this morning. A young Irishman, named in the Irish Times as Kevin Browne, was found dead at Hard Times, a mining experience attraction near Mount Isa, in western Queensland.

The 27-year-old’s body was found at 11am yesterday. The alarm was raised when Browne failed to return from a night out and police are trying to establish how he gained access to the site.

The Times quotes Superintendent Russell Miller.

“There is a six-foot (two metre) high chain wire fence around the perimeter but it would appear that he has been able to gain entry.”

“At this point in time it appears there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death,” Supt. Miller said.

“We are still trying to piece together his movements prior to him being found and there may well have been someone driving past at that time of night that saw someone near the Hard Times mine.”
