The Roscommon man isn’t forgetting his roots…

Chris O’Dowd is one of the best-loved Irishmen in the world right now. He’s been flying the flag for us in Hollywood for the past few years and now he’s doing it in the high-brow setting of Broadway in New York, where he’s starring in the play “Of Mice and Men.”

Sometimes when Irish people go abroad and start doing well, they start getting flighty ideas about themselves; but Chris certainly isn’t falling into that category.

Speaking to CBS News, The IT Crowd actor said growing up in Ireland was a huge help to his career: “I think it keeps you very grounded. I think going back there now makes me feel very privileged to have the opportunities that I have but the humour in Ireland is a great training post.”
