Two pedestrians over in the UK came within meters of being killed when a Mini Cooper S smashed into the path right in front of them…

When you’re walking down the street minding your own business the last thing you’d expect to see is a car barrelling through the guardrails beside you.

Unfortunately for this pair over in Manchester, that’s exactly what happened, but they should take solace in the fact that they weren’t walking any faster, as they would have definitely been killed in the collision. The action above kicks off around the 0:13-second mark.

The incident occurred at about 7.15pm on Saturday 9 August 2014 along the Manchester Road, towards Rochdale, when the driver lost control at the junction of Dane Street.

The Greater Manchester Police recently released the following statement: “The driver, a 21-year-old man, suffered head injuries and was taken to Salford Royal Infirmary for treatment. He is currently being treated in hospital and his condition remains stable.

“Police Constable Simon McEvoy of Rochdale division said:

“‘We are investigating the circumstances leading up to this collision and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to call us as soon as possible.

“‘We are particularly keen to speak to the two witnesses in the CCTV who were walking on the pavement at the time of the crash and may be able to assist us with the investigation’.

“Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 8809 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
