Great Scott! There are flux capacitors on sale on a US motorsport website

All we need now is 1.21 gigawatts of power and we got ourselves a time machine.

It was way back in 1988 when Doc Brown and Marty McFly powered up the Delorean and went back in time to 1955 yet, 26 years on, no non-fictional geniuses have been able to come up with a real-life time-machine.

We wish we could say that that’s about to change with the invention of a real-life flux capacitor that’s for sale on US Motorsport website USP Motorsports, but on further investigation, we doubt that it has the ability to make vehicles travel through time, as was the case with the Delorean in Back to the Future.

The blurb on the website claims that, for the bargain price of $4,599, you’ll get your hands on the OEM solution developed by the famous Doc Brown, which has been adapted by USP to fit your VW, Audi, Porsche or Lamborghini to provide a 500% increase in horsepower. Riiiggghht.

Some would suggest that a bold claim like that is as close to bullsh*t as the manure that ended up in Biff’s car after a high-speed pursuit on more than one occasion, but it did at least lead to one highly amusing review of the product, the only review it has received so far.

Where cars with this product attached are going… we’re pretty sure they’ll still need roads.

Hat-tip to Andrew Kavanagh for sending this one our way
