We’d be amazed if this guy is still with his girlfriend after this but we got a good chuckle out of it all the same.
From our experience at least, Lord of the Rings is the marmite of the film world, you either love it or hate it; there is no middle Earth ground.
Those who love it will, for example, think nothing of watching all three movies back to back and will be able to recite quotes from Frodo, Gandalf and company at will, but most of those people will refrain from doing so unless in the company who love the trilogy as much as they do.
One guy, however, decided to use his knowledge of the movies to pester his girlfriend repeatedly over a sustained period, annoying her at work, on the bus, when they were chilling out and even frightening her in the middle of the night with random Lord of the Rings quotes, collecting clips of all of them on Snapchat and cobbling them together into a YouTube compilation.
The longer the clip goes on, the more ‘precious’ and annoyed the LOTR fan’s girlfriend gets and in fairness you couldn’t blame her; even if you like the movie adaptation of Tolkien’s work you’d be fit to throw him into Mount Doom after this.
As long as he doesn’t make a Hobbit of it, wha? *JOE goes to get coat
