JOE

Sick of sitting around the house bored out of your mind? Then why not check out these three Action Packed activities located around Ireland…

If you fancy getting out of the house to do something that you won’t forget in a hurry, then these awesome events will most definitely leave you wanting more, with thanks to MSL.

Act the clown in Tralee

Why not head south to Tralee and enjoy the National Circus Festival which takes over the town from November 13-16. Find out whether you’re more of a juggler or a clown (or both) at one of the many workshops available.

International and local stars of the high-top will be in attendance and you’re sure not to end up with pie* on your face if you do make the trip. For more information and a full list of events, click here.

*JOE takes no responsibility for any pie which ends up on reader’s faces.

Get your laughs on in Whelans

How about seeing some of Ireland’s best comedy talent while raising money for a fantastic cause? Well, that’s exactly what you’ll be doing if you go along to the Fundraising Comedy Gala with Deirdre O’Kane at Whelan’s on Saturday November 22.

Among the acts performing on the night will be Deirdre herself, Karl Spain, Fred Cooke, Colm O’Regan, Gearoid Farrelly, Eleanor Tiernan, Chris Kent and Today FM’s Dermot Whelan. And tickets are only €20 plus booking fee.

If you needed any more convincing, you should know that funds raised on the night are going towards Poppy’s Wheels and the Parents Association of Scoil Mochua Special Needs School. We reckon that’s money very well spent.

Enjoy a film festival in Kilkenny

SUBTITLE is a wonderful film festival which takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Kilkenny every November. They showcase some of the best films Europe has to offer and usually have a few star names hanging around the place looking to catch a flick or two.

The Angela European Film Awards are held their on the closing night of the festival. Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and The Hobbit’s Mikael Persbrandt are both past winners. So travel to the Marble city from November 24-30 to watch some of Europe’s best film making and maybe catch a star or two.
