Marks and Spencer on Grafton Street evacuated on the busiest weekend of the year

The shop is closed due to a 'false alarm'

The shop is closed due to a ‘false alarm.’

Marks and Spencer on Grafton Street was forced to be evacuated just four days before Christmas due to a false alarm.

Customers who, like JOE, have left their Christmas shopping to the last possible minute were confused when they saw the busy shop shuttered on Sunday afternoon.

A staff member told The Journal that the shop had been closed due to a ‘false alarm’ and they hoped to reopen soon.

It is not likely to have been a criminal matter as the Gardai were not informed.
