Music, food, films and fighting priests.
The Late Late Show continues its ongoing quest to keep people away from the pub this evening with an intriguing line-up of guests.
Then again, maybe you prefer watching the show whilst knocking back a few pints in your local. Each to their own we say.
So whose bums are filling the chairs next to Tubridy tonight?
Kodaline
The last few weeks have been good to the Dublin band after they rocked in the New Year live on national TV alongside JOE’s own Paddy McKenna, but Tubridy probably has more important things to chat to them about than our own editor.
The Swords natives are set to release their new album ‘Coming Up for Air’ tomorrow and they’ve also recently been nominated for the Meteor Choice Award for their song ‘One Day’.
This year already looks set to be a busy one for the quartet, as they’re in line to play Kilmainham on Friday June 26 and Cork the day before on June 25.
Maia Dunphy
The lady whose spoof autobiography about Mr Tayto managed to keep Bertie Ahern off the top of the book charts will also be chatting to Tubridy about her career as a writer, broadcaster and comedian.
To be honest, we would be happy to hear Dunphy’s stories from Ballydung Manor following her many years working behind the scenes on Podge and Rodge but that’s not the only string to her bow.
The broadcaster has also fronted her own shows What Women Want, Best Sex Ever and Happily Ever After which are sure to provide a few interesting anecdotes.
All this without mentioning the fact that she’s married to comedian Johnny Vegas.
Terry McMahon & Moe Dunford
Irish film Patrick’s Day has been earning some decent reviews and positive word of mouth around various film circuits, it won the Audience Award at the Cork Film Festival last year and shared the Best Irish Feature award at the Galway Film Fleadh.
It was also one of the most praised Irish features at the prestigious Sundance Festival along with Glassland.
Expect Tubridy to be channelling his inner Barry Norman with questions about its success and the Irish film industry at large when he interviews its director and star.
Then again they might just be talking about who their favourite member of Westlife is.
Nick Munier
Food lovers will enjoy hearing what Tubridy cooks up when he gets the chance to turn up the heat on the co-presenter of MasterChef Ireland.
Munier has worked in some of the swankiest kitchens in Ireland, including the K Club, the Clarence Hotel and Patrick Guilbaud, so maybe he can give JOE some tips on how to improve our classic dish, beans on toast.
Father Pierre ‘Jalapeño’ Pepper
Sometimes you really have to love Ireland. What other country would include a priest that’s boxing to raise funds for charity on a national TV show?
JOE has been covering this story right from its beginning and seeing Fr Pepper go toe-to-toe with Tubridy is bound to be interesting.
Is there anything to be said for a mass also?
Now for the fun part.
