It’s good news and more good news
The cancellation of the Killarney Festival has left a lot of people disappointed, but all may not be lost after a number of Irish acts confirmed they’ll play a gig in the Kerry town this weekend.
Walking on Cars, Mick Flannery and Little Hours will play at the INEC on Saturday night and Damien Dempsey and Mundy will play there on Sunday.
All tickets are €20 and the profits will go to Cuan Counselling and the Oncology Unit at Tralee General Hospital.
Comedy gigs will be played in the INEC Acoustic Club with Aprés Match playing on Saturday and Jason Byrne taking the stage on Sunday. Those gigs are €15 each.
Killarney Festival, which was hosting acts such as Duran Duran was cancelled unexpectedly due to “unforeseen circumstances beyond their control”.
A festival spokesperson said they would like to apologise for cancelling the festival. “We would like to extend our sincere apologies to all the festival-goers who were planning to attend the event in Killarney and we would like to thank all the local businesses and statutory agencies for their help and support.”
While the festival has been cancelled, Irish Rail have taken it upon themselves to refund anyone who had booked tickets.
We are offering full refunds to any customers that have booked to attend @Killarney_Music this weekend

And they are still encouraging people to take a visit to Killarney and check out the fine array of things they have to see and do.
Sure why not.
Even though @Killarney_Music is cancelled this weekend there are still lots of great things to do in Killarney http://t.co/Xx9MOqQW2u — Iarnród Éireann (@IrishRail) June 25, 2015
