The GAA confirmed the news last night.
Diarmuid Connolly will play no part in Dublin’s clash with Mayo in their All-Ireland semi final replay this Saturday.
The GAA’s Central Hearings Committee ruled that the forward’s red card in the drawn game last weekend was issued correctly and that he’ll serve a one-match suspension.
Referee Joe McQuillan sent off the All Star after his altercation with Lee Keegan in the 74th minute of the game on Sunday.
the player has a right to appeal the decision to the Central Appeals Committee and from there to the Disputes Resolution Committee but as of now, he’s out.
The ruling will come as a huge blow to Dublin and their manager Jim Gavin as Connolly has been their star forward in the past few seasons.
