It’s not Grafton Street.

Most cities and towns in the country are thronged with people doing their Christmas shopping as the big build up continues unabated.

One street in Dublin has been voted the most popular area for shoppers securing 40% of the vote on a survey done by Q-Park Ireland.

The northside area of Henry Street claims victory over its more illustrious southside neighbour Grafton Street who landed 34% of the vote.

The survey also revealed that 60% of people polled say they prefer shopping in Dublin city centre at Christmas than going to a suburban shopping centre.

A better variety of shops in the city centre is the big draw for 33% of respondents whilst a quarter (24%) will visit the city centre this December as it is their Christmas tradition.
