Easter as we know it could be about to change forever

“What date is Easter this year?”

Easter has earned its spot as Ireland’s most frustrating festive holiday, mainly because we’re never actually sure when it’s going to be.

Not knowing which weekend Easter Sunday falls on isn’t the biggest deal in and of itself, but Good Friday always sneaks up on us which is the worst, since Jesus ‘No Craic’ Christ says you can’t buy alcohol on Good Friday, and you end up stuck.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has said that leaders of all the various Christian denominations will work towards agreeing a fixed date for Easter Sunday within the next five to 10 years.

Easter currently depends on phases of the moon which, to be fair, does not seem like the most convenient way to decide things in the 21st century.
