PIC: This big man/small man mismatch from Laois is a contender for GAA picture of the year

Conor Heneghan

Only in the GAA.

GAA players come in all sorts of shapes and sizes but more often than not, certain players are appointed to mark members of the opposition team because of their similar physical attributes.

Occasional mismatches are inevitable, however and there was a physical mismatch for the ages in a Kelly Cup first round clash between Laois outfits Graiguecullen and Barrowhouse yesterday.

The brilliant photo below was sent our way by local photographer Paul Dargan and and it shows Patrick ‘Chops’ Scully of Graiguecullen (red and green) keeping an eye on Brian ‘Bugsy’ Malone of Barrowhouse (black and white), who was no doubt praying that any ball that came their way was fast and low.

Only February and we already have a contender for GAA picture of the year.

Cheers to Paul Dargan for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102, [email protected] or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter.
