WATCH: Two guys convince everyone they’ve won the EuroMillions by showing up in Mclaren MP4

If only it had been real…

People are hugely interested in learning the identity or identities of the winners of Tuesday night’s EuroMillions jackpot worth a staggering €88.5 million.

There had been rumours earlier this week that it had been won by a syndicate working in a factory in Cork with the winning ticket also being sold in the Rebel County.

But these proved to be about as accurate as an aul’ fella predicting rain at the weekend. It was revealed today that the winning ticket was sold in AppleGreen on the M1 northbound in Lusk, Co Dublin.

The service station ran a promotion today where petrol and diesel were being sold for 88.5 cent while stocks lasted… and they didn’t last long.

Jamie Crinigan and his friend Ian have a sports car dealership called the Harford Motor Company in north Dublin.

They decided to have some fun today by showing up to AppleGreen in Lusk driving a pricey Mclaren MP4 which can retail for in excess of €200,000.

Holding a fake lottery ticket and driving an expensive car with a licence plate reading “winner – 88 – 5”, they managed to trick everybody into believing they’d hit the jackpot.
