Woman discovers headaches caused by live cockroach in her skull (Warning: Graphic Content)

Rory Cashin

This is absolutely not for the faint of heart, so if you’re at all squeamish, now is the time to turn back.

Still here? Okay, you can’t say we didn’t warn you…

A 42-year-old Indian woman had been complaining of headaches and breathing difficulties, and ended up in Stanley Medical College to get checked out.

Talking to CNN, the doctor said they initially didn’t find anything… until they did.

“The cockroach had burrowed into the roof of the nose, almost near the skull base, which is the dividing point between the brain and the nose,” the doctor said.

Over the course of 45 minutes, the inch-long and still very much alive cockroach was eventually removed from the woman’s skull.

The insect had been inside the woman for over 12 hours, and if it had died before being removed, it may have caused a massive infection and eventually killed her.

Sleep tight, everyone!
