Get the Factor 50 out! Bank Holiday Monday is going to be an absolute scorcher

Tony Cuddihy

weather this week

You might want to stand under a hose for the day. The sun is coming out.

We’ve been no strangers to the sun recently, but things are about to reach another level entirely on Bank Holiday Monday.

If you’re lucky enough not to be working, a) we hate you and, b) get the sun cream out, as Met Éireann are predicting temperatures to reach as high as 25 degrees in parts of the country.

Nice.

This was the scene early this morning, with any fog set to clear early and leave blazing sunshine across the country.

If you’re in the North, there’s the possibility of some thundery showers breaking out towards the end of the day but otherwise we’re looking at a whole day of beer garden weather.
