“I’m here now, everybody look.”
At the start of the year, Derry Girls was added to Netflix global — meaning that audiences in the USA, Pakistan and South Africa got to watch it. It came as no surprise to us that Lisa McGee’s loveable coming-of-age comedy won rave reviews and quickly cemented itself as one of the best comedies of 2018 on a global scale.
Now, the Americans/Australians et al. are in for even more luck, as the cult comedy series The Hardy Bucks is coming to the online streaming giant — all four seasons of it, and the movie.
And the good news doesn’t stop there. The show is always coming to Netflix Ireland & UK, meaning that ex-pats across the Irish sea or domestic fans of the show will be able to catch up on one of the best Irish comedies of recent times.
We have a feeling that some of The Viper’s one-liners — “That’s not what your mother said last night… In bed… Having sex” — will go down a storm across the pond. We can’t wait to see what they make of the lads from Castletown.
How they’re going to cope with the slang is another question altogether.
For all you home sick irish expats in Australia, USA, UK and beyond. You can now catch up on old and recent episodes of Hardy Bucks on Netflix. Show your friends how crazy life be all up in Castletown. pic.twitter.com/i81lR9lE3b
