Unsolved Mysteries

This could be another masterstroke by Netflix.

Deadline is reporting that online streaming giant Netflix is planning to reboot the cult classic paranormal activity/true crime series Unsolved Mysteries.

The 12-part show will use re-enactments in a documentary format to profile real-life mysteries and unsolved crimes, lost love, cases involving missing persons and unexplained paranormal events. Each episode will focus on one mystery.

Fans of Netflix’s flagship sci-fi sensation Stranger Things will also be pleased to learn that the executive producer of everything in Hawkins, Indiana will also be overseeing the Unsolved Mysteries project.

On the other hand, die-hard fans of the show will also be excited, as the show’s creators John Cosgrove and Terry Dunn Meurer are heavily involved, also credited as executive producers.

The original version of the show ran for 10 years between 1987 and 1997, gathering a cult following. Details are scant about the reboot, but based on what we know so far, this one could be Making A Murderer meets Stranger Things.
