John Wick is back.

Great news has arrived for anyone who loves dogs, action, motorcycles, guns… lots of guns and the incredibly cool Keanu Reeves. Bad news for faceless henchmen that are only there to take a fatal headshot.

Oh yes, the world’s deadliest assassin will be returning as Lionsgate have announced that John Wick 4 will be released on 21 May, 2021.

The studio made the announcement via a text message to fans: “You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming – May 21, 2021.”

For those that saw John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the news isn’t that big a surprise – we’re saying nothing about the ending- but with the TV show on the way too, we’re happier than Winston sipping on a cocktail at The Continental.

After knocking Avengers: Endgame from its lofty perch, Lionsgate’s third instalment of the Keanu Reeves action franchise took in more than the combined opening weekends of its predecessors.

Aside from being incredibly popular with fans, the third film has also been a critical favourite and it currently has a 88% “fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie sees Reeves return as an ex-hitman on the run from assassins. There’s a $14 million bounty on his head and an army of  killers on his trail. After killing a member of the shadowy international assassin’s guild, the High Table, John Wick is excommunicado, but the world’s most ruthless hit men and women await his every turn.

Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick also star.

It’s bonkers, it’s brilliant, it’s hilarious.

It’s John Wick.

In the immortal words of Charon: “How good to see you again so soon, Mr. Wick.”
