Escape Plan – Syfy – 9pm
Another entertaining action-thriller, Escape Plan sees Hollywood stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone pair up as co-leads for the first time.
The two play prisoners who must join together to escape the world’s most secret and secure prison.
Robocop 3 – ITV 4 – 9pm
Robert John Burke replaces Peter Weller as the title character in this 1993 sequel.
Maximum Risk – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm
While seeking answers regarding the death of the twin brother he never knew he had, a French cop (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and his sibling’s fiancée (Natasha Henstridge) find themselves pursued by corrupt FBI agents and the Russian mafia.
Mechanic: Resurrection – Film Four – 9pm
A watchable if forgettable Jason Statham vehicle.
The Bank Job – Film Four – 11pm
A much better Jason Statham vehicle is this stylish ’70s London-set heist movie inspired by true events.
Here, the action star plays a self-reformed petty criminal whose ex-girlfriend (Saffron Burrows) turns up with an offer to pull off a lucrative bank heist.
Paths of Glory – BBC Four – 11.05pm
An early masterpiece from legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick.
The Infiltrator – Turner Classic Movies – 11.10pm
A US Customs official (Bryan Cranston) uncovers a money laundering scheme involving Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
Also featuring Ireland’s own Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, The Infiltrator is notable for boasting Nidge, Pablo Escobar and Walter White.
Fury – ITV 4 – 11.10pm
Our pick for tonight, Brad Pitt stars as a grizzled tank commander who must make tough decisions as he and his crew, including an innocent young rookie (Logan Lerman), fight their way across Germany in April, 1945.
Featuring a committed cast who spend most of the film caked in dirt and muck and a handful of heart-rendering, tense and violent action set-pieces, Fury is a gripping reminder of the horrors of combat.
